A coped joint is sometimes used when crown mouldings meet at inside corners. Cut a cope a little long and snap it in place—it will close up even tighter. Use a coping saw to fit crown molding in inside corners that aren't square.
You can't do it like any other trim pieces because the molding sits at an angle between the wall and the ceiling (image 1).
To cut crown molding inside corners, start by measuring the angle of the corner using an adjustable protractor, and setting a compound miter saw to the correct angles.
